Kenmare Veterinary Centre is the only combined registered Equine hospital and small animal hospital in the whole south west! But we have more to offer.

We are the only Equine hospital offering a complete mobile clinic affordable for everyone.

Our vans travel nationwide and have a lot to offer;

o Mobile digital x-ray; we can make asses and if needed email x-rays to from your yard. This service is used a lot for vetting. Ultrasound of tendons, back joints, neck and reproduction tract is also possible

o International sales or sport vetting; we have a wide network of contacts in Ireland and the rest of the world in relation to pre purchase examinations. We do work for buyers from Italy, Germany, Holland, France, Spain, Portugal, USA, etc. Direct contact with buyers and vets abroad is possible. X-rays prior to sales, clinical pre purchase exams, etc are of course possible as well.

o Full sport assessment; a package containing a full work up including exams of lungs, orthopaedics, bloods, etc.

o Dental treatments. Dental care and diagnostics are part of our general approach of the (sport) horse. Being vets we are legally allowed to sedate your horse (dentists are not!) and if needed carry out further diagnostics like x-rays of dental roots or blood tests. Sometimes the problems of riding are not at all located in the mouth and we can diagnose another cause. We believe that dental work should be carried out by trained vets and that is what we are!

o All other general work as vaccinations, microchip and marking, wound treatment, scanning, etc.

o Facilitate equine events. When our van is on your event, you offer the best medical care to your competitors. Treatments, x-rays, ultrasound, lung scope, etc all on location!

We carry the principle that travelling costs are a waste for you and us. Most of our work with the mobile clinic is based on appointment. We service a certain area and try to do as much work as possible in that area. With regular visits to Cork, Kerry, Limerick, Tipperary, Dublin, Cavan, etc we are nearly always in a position to offer a reasonable price for travelling.

In an area of approximately 1 hour drive from Kenmare we carry our more regular visits.
